Recently the kind and lovely ladies of AppleCheeks sent me a Size 1 Zippered Storage Sac to try out. I have been a long time customer, as their diapers are hands down my favorite pocket, and the ONLY pocket I ever recommend to a new mom (look for more on their diapers soon!). Over the years Ilana and I have corresponded, and now for this giveaway I have spoken with Beth as well, and I have to say they are one of my favorite companies for customer service. Their products are durable, long lasting and well made in Canada, and this bag is no exception.
It couldn't have arrived at a better time - the day before departing on a four day road trip to various places, so I really got to put it in action immediately. Admittedly, I do own a more square shaped wetbag of another brand, but at 15.5 inches tall but 11 inches wide and 3 inches deep, this is different and superior in many ways. The first thing that stood out was that it is about the width of one diaper. So if you're on the go and trying to contain a mess to deal with later, even with only one diaper in the bag it stays in place, whereas other bags the diaper can float around and open up. The long skinny design also makes it easier to stuff it to maximum capacity, which depending on the age of the child and frequency of changes, is approximately a day's worth of diapers (smaller babies who are changed more also have smaller diapers). I was able to easily fit six of my 2.5 year old daughter's diapers. I also love the hanging loop and size for a number of other reasons. First, this is an ideal size for mama cloth, so I have plans to use it in the future to hang in the bathroom when the time arises. It is also an excellent size for family cloth, wet clothes from the pool/beach, and much more. It would even be great to hang in the pantry for unpaper towels (either unused or dirty).
